A large and sophisticated drugs factory has been found by police who raided an Auckland warehouse.
Up to 1000 cannabis plants, tens of thousands of dollars worth of cannabis heads - which resin is produced from, a crossbow and suspected methamphetamine were found in the warehouse in Selwyn Street, Onehunga, yesterday.
Police said the mainly hydroponics operation was guarded overnight and photographers and fingerprints experts were at the scene today.
A 35 year-old Onehunga man was due in Auckland District Court on charges of cultivating cannabis and allowing a premises to be used for the purpose of cannabis cultivation.
Detective Sergeant Dave Nimmo said the operation was huge and sophisticated.
"The cannabis plants range in size from seedlings to fully grown trees, so we've got a fair bit of product to move," he said.
"We'll be executing further search warrants in connection to this discovery over the next few days so I expect there'll be further arrests," he said.
