Instead, women have been taking the opportunity to point out that women can still be fully functioning members of society while they have their period, and that writing off their behaviour as merely being the result of hormones is unacceptable.
The popular idea was first thought up by Femsplain's Amber Gordon, who created the #periodsarenotaninsult hashtag. It has quickly taken off on Twitter.
"Thought you should know I'm on my period," wrote Mallory C. Brown, who tweeted at Donald using the trending hashtag. "Woah, and still completely myself and functioning."
Some of the tweets are taunting, while others are flat-out sarcastic - but each maintains a happy, upbeat tone, further driving home the point that women can have full control over their emotions -and their wits - even while PMSing.
"Felt as bloated as your ego all weekend," wrote Lauren, a women's issues activist, while Laura Kat added: "Hey, @realDonaldTrump, just thought I should let you know that I'm actively bleeding."
Some devastatingly clever ladies have even started referring to their periods themselves as their "Donald" or "the Trumps".
"I'm really tired. Maybe my Donald is due. How will I ever cope with being a mere woman and all?" shared skincare expert Caroline Hirons before E.M. Spairow added: "On day two which everyone knows is the WORST. Got the Trumps real bad."
Several people who've joined in the movement seem to be trying to make Donald uncomfortable, describing the details of their cycles, asking him about pantyliner preferences, and sharing photos of various feminine hygiene products.
But many women have noted that despite being in the middle of menstruation, they still manage to be go about their business, working as federal employees, running board meetings, and taking care of themselves and others.
One even pointed out that all of Donald's bluster may just be a way for him to distract from something he doesn't understand.
A writer named Tara Dublin explained: "Meanwhile, if men got periods, you just know @realDonaldTrump would brag his was the heaviest in history."
