A woman has claimed that after sniffing a bell-shaped flower she experienced "crazy dreams" and hallucinations.
In a TikTok video, the woman explained that she and her best friend spotted the "beautiful flower" called Angel's Trumpet and after having spent the night deeply inhaling its smell, they had "accidentally drugged" themselves.
Angel's Trumpet is a commonly used term for flowering plants in the genus Brugmansia.
The flowers are considered poisonous and ingestion of the plants can cause disturbing hallucinations, paralysis, tachycardia, memory loss and can even be fatal.
Brugmansia is closely related to the genus Datura, and the plants have similarly dangerous effects.
Datura has been responsible for serious poisoning in New Zealand in the past.
However, unfamiliar with its worrying reactions, Raffaela Wyeman, a singer-songwriter from Canada, proceeded to smell the innocent-looking flower.
"When we arrived at our friend's party, we both suddenly felt so f****d up and had to leave," she said in the TikTok video.
After the pair got home, they went straight to sleep with Raffaela, whose stage name is Ralph, saying she started to have "the craziest dreams".
She went on to add that she also experienced sleep paralysis for the first time in her life.
"Turns out the flower is super poisonous and we accidentally drugged ourselves like idiots," she continued, while showing a screenshot of the flower description.
Hundreds of people were left in shock by her potentially damaging mistake.
"My brother tripped on one of these when he was a teen. He was never the same. Don't risk it guys," one person commented
"People do not ever ever consume this flower in any shape or form, it is not a good trip, it is a very very bad long long feeling," another person added, while a third wrote:
"I saw the flower and instantly knew this wouldn't go well."
