Bike the Bridge.

Here are some events to keep you busy this weekend.

It's raining, it's windy, it's sunny. Yip, another spring weekend in Auckland. Go outdoors, run indoors, back out doors again is our plan.

1: See the City

Sunday's Bike the Bridge is a cycle event for the whole family where you can anticipate how wonderful this city will be when we're all walking and cycling across any time we please - we see ya, Sydney, San Francisco, New York. You do have to be 11 or older to ride over the bridge itself, obsessives can do the full 105km course to a toddler ride, there's something for all abilities. You can enter up to 3pm Saturday. Enter online here until 3.00pm on Saturday 15 November**

OR Friday 14 November pre race rego from 10.00am to 7.00pm at Richmond Yacht Club, Westhaven Seawall, 173 Westhaven Drive. Cash or credit card.

OR Saturday 15 November pre race rego from 10.00am to 8.00pm at QBE Stadium, Concourse Lounge (just inside Gate A). Cash or credit card.

** PLEASE NOTE: Everyone must attend one of the pre race registration venues on Friday or Saturday even if you enter online as late as 3.00pm on Saturday.

2: Bright ideas

Whatever the weather, it is worth wandering around Ponsonby's Western Park as it is transformed by Art in the Dark - a brightly lit hub of installations and sculptures, both interactive and traditional. In daylight hours, head to Auckland Art Gallery for the equally mind blowing Light Show.

3: Eats and Easts

Taste of Auckland's new venue at Western Springs is a feast for foodies to explore some of the most exciting Auckland dining places establishments, try winning dishes (Farina, Oyster Inn and Depot were judged last night as the best tastes) plus watch top chefs cooking, wine tastings and plenty of artisan foods to buy.

4: Dance on

Here for only three days, the outstanding Sydney Dance Company's performance of 2 One Another has been internationally acclaimed: beautiful, dynamic and highly physical.

Details: Saturday 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Aotea Centre.

5: To market to market

It's had its ups and downs, but this time the gorgeous refurbishment of Victoria Park Markets deserves to kick off in style. A new weekend market starts today, with fresh new stalls selling delicious artisan food (The Pie Piper is worth the trip, alone), curiosities, original art and handmade crafts, with a focus on NZ-made products. Have breakfast at one of the many cafes, browse the stalls then spend the afternoon relaxing with a drink in one of the restaurants and bars.
