Review: Graham Reid
Movies do not come much more stupid than this teen-titillation vehicle but the period-piece soundtrack should fill a few gaps in your 70s/early 80s collection.
That's if you wanted Blondie's poppy Call Me, War and Eric Burdon with the post-hippie tedium of Spill the Wine, Hot Chocolate's greasy You Sexy Thing and KC and the Sunshine Band's funky Get Down Tonight.
These are jostling alongside 10cc's gorgeously breathy I'm Not in Love, Walter Egan's deservedly long-forgotten Magnet and Steel and Jeff Lynne's more recent Lift Me Up (with what sounds suspiciously like George Harrison doing some vocals and trademark slide guitar). Oh, and with Marvin Gaye's sublime Let's Get It On squeezed somewhere in between.
Like the curate's egg, good in parts. Which is more than you can say for the accompanying images.
