Trolls taunt Meghan's latest do-good attempt

Supporters of the Kate Middleton and Prince William have trolled Meghan and Prince Harry's latest "do-good" attempt.

Earlier this week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took to their joint Instagram account, asking their followers to nominate the people they look up to as "Forces for Change".

The post was inundated with comments, suggesting the other royal couple.

For the month of August we look to you for help. We want to know who YOUR Force for Change is.... Each month, we change the accounts we follow to highlight various causes, people or organisations doing amazing things for their communities and the world at large. Over the next few days please add your suggestions into the comments section: someone you look up to, the organisation doing amazing work that we should all be following, an account that inspires you to be and do better (or that simply makes you feel good), or the handle that brims with optimism for a brighter tomorrow. We will choose 15 accounts and follow them next Monday, as we spend the month of August acknowledging the Forces for Change in all of our lives.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, obviously," wrote one.

"Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate should be on the Vogue cover!" wrote another.

"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge," agreed a third.

Several followers have also complained that their trolling comments are reportedly being deleted from the post.

Earlier this year in a bid to tackle hateful comments, palace officials published rules for those posting or commenting on its social media channels.

"We reserve the right to determine, at our discretion, whether contributions to our social media channels breach our guidelines," reads the rules on the official Social Media Community Guidelines page on Royal.uk.

"We reserve the right to hide or delete comments made on our channels, as well as block users who do not follow these guidelines."

The trolling follows the news that Meghan Markle has been accused of plagiarising her Vogue September issue, from a book she featured in.

In 2016, the Duchess of Sussex contributed an essay for the book The Game Changers: How To Become a Fearless, Fabulous Girl Boss, written by Samantha Brett and Steph Adams.

The publication's cover featured 15 celebrities photographed in black in white and laid out in a grid formation - exactly like Markle's new Vogue cover.

Readers have been quick to alert the original authors of the obvious similarities.

"It's obviously very flattering. She obviously likes our concept," Brett told The Daily Mail.

"I love Meghan and am a huge fan, but if what people are alerting us to is true then it's extremely disappointing."
