The creepiest time of year has come, which gives everyone an excuse to buy or make a costume to their liking.
This year, the hottest Halloween costumes are mostly characters from people's favourite video games, movies and televisions series.
Reaching the number one spot for YouTube views, skins for themost popular game in the world, Fortnite, are what people are after this Halloween.
Also ranking in top 10 YouTube views are costumes related to Stranger Things, Despicable Me, The Greatest Showman, Alice in Wonderland and Mario Bros.
The search term "Fortnite Costume" has recently spiked in the past month on Google in New Zealand, beating superhero favourites including Deadpool, Pennywise the Clown, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman.
The online store Costume World NZ has had hundreds of requests for Fortnite costumes, with unfortunately not having any costumes to give out.
"Sadly, we don't have them in stock just yet, but we'll be launching them before Christmas. We'll be one of the only places in the country where people will be able to buy them from.
"We'll be getting several characters to begin with and rolling them out gradually, we're expecting them to be really popular," Tyler Staunton from Costume World NZ says.

A tutorial from the Disney Channel UK shows how you can make a Ladybug and Cat Noir's Mask from the cartoon series Miraculous Ladybug.
4. Adrien Agreste, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir
Another favourite costume search for Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is the character Adrien Agreste. Kurosaki Cosplays shows you how she put her cosplay together.
5. Despicable Me
The Daya Daily shows you how you can make costumes for Gru, Lucy, Minion, and Agnes from the movie Despicable Me. She also includes a makeup tutorial for each character.
6. Fairy
The common fairy has made in into the top searches. Kait Nichole has done a easy to follow makeup tutorial so you can turn yourself into a pretty fairy. Cute!
7. The Mad Hatter, Alice and Wonderland
Victoria Lyn's shows how to turn yourself into the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland with a makeup tutorial.
