1. Ellen DeGeneres at the Oscars
Ellen DeGeneres' star-studded snap at the 2014 Oscars is perhaps the most memorable selfie of all time.
Squeezing in Jared Leto, Jennifer Lawrence, Channing Tatum, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Kevin Spacey, Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt, Lupita Nyong'O, Peter Nyong'O and Angelina Jolie, the image has been retweeted a total of 3.4m times to date and was one of the most retweeted tweets in history.

2. John and Max Key in pre-golf swag
Let's not forget those famous faces from our own home turf. This shot from ex-Prime Minister John Key and son Max is a real pearler.

Just one of the duo's selfie collection, John shows his skills on the camera are just as sharp as Max's with this shot taken before they head out to a game of golf.
3. Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye West meet Hillary Clinton
Let's appreciate the sheer oddity of this trio - arguable modern-day selfie queen Kim (sorry, Paris), husband Kanye and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

4. Barack Obama and Bear Grylls take Alaska
While we're on the topic of world leaders, we can't ignore former US President Barack Obama with our favourite adventure man Bear Grylls.
The image was shot after the pair trekked through Alaska, and unfortunately Obama made the amateur move of getting his finger in the shot. It's alright, we'll forgive him.
Bear is no stranger to a good selfie, not limiting himself to presidential royalty he's also partial to a pic with the likes of Ed Sheeran and James Blunt.
5. Beyoncé and Blue Ivy covered in bees
No list is complete without Beyoncé, and this playful snap of her with daughter Blue Ivy is undeniably sweet, showing a softer side to fierce Queen B. Plus, it racked up a sweet two million likes - numbers us mere mortals could only dream of for a self-taken snap.
