German beauty also fronts at NRL season launch with the Warriors

She slipped into Auckland on Thursday afternoon and through the back exit door at the airport, missing waiting media snappers, but Heidi Klum was happy to be on show that night as special guest of her boss Eric Watson.

The supermodel, who was in the country to promote her new collaboration with Bendon - whose main shareholder is Watson's Cullen Investments - was the star attraction at a party at SkyCity.

"It's basically a private party to show Heidi off to the shareholders," Watson's rep said.

Two hours earlier, the German beauty was an unexpected surprise at the NRL season launch party with Watson and his Warriors players.

Watson's partner, Lisa, was back home in Europe with their sons.

Klum was a working celebrity-face-for-hire, and Eric was getting his money's worth.

She was escorted on Thursday night by one of the contestants from Germany's Next Top Model, the reality show Klum is the host, judge and co-executive producer of.

Five contestants on the programme flew into Auckland on Wednesday for a whirlwind trip to take part in a secret elimination episode filmed here. They flew out yesterday.

Part of their TV challenge was an editorial photo shoot with New Zealand fashion bible Remix, modelling local and international designer garb, and Bendon smalls. The episode will screen in Germany in April.

The five aspiring Top Models were whittled down to two, and I hear the tears were flowing for those girls who didn't make the cut on the Kiwi photoshoot.

Klum, whose ruthless Teutonic catchphrase is "Auf wiedersehen!" when a designer on her Project Runway show gets the cut, was, however, all smiles at her party.

She worked the room, chatting to everyone in her playful, sweet, charming manner - even taking selfies with star-struck media types who should know better.

Veuve Cliquot flowed. Red 11 runway models sashayed past wearing items from the Heidi Klum Intimates range.

And Auckland's A-minor list mingled, including Renee Wright, Brooke Howard-Smith, Candy Lane, Lizzie Marvelly, Wendy Petrie, MPs Chris Tremain and Nikki Kaye, and the obligatory Shorty St stars.

Conchords ready to fly

Hooray, they're coming back. Flight of the Conchords have announced plans to embark on another tour, although no dates have been confirmed yet.

Billboard reported Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie are not only "planning on touring later on in the year in the States", but will also debut new material during this time. "I really don't like the studio part of music," said Clement, who is at the Sundance Film Festival promoting his new movie, People, Places, Things. "I more enjoy playing live and letting others take care of the recording."

A Flight of the Conchords reunion tour, which took place in 2012 in New Zealand, sold out within 10 minutes.
