An out-of-this world prefab home from the 1970s is on the move, with a house-moving company tasked with transporting it between islands to an unknown location.
Britton Housemovers Group, one of the largest in New Zealand, was spotted taking the oversized UFO away from its original home in Christchurch ona Mack truck.
It drew awe from motorists trailing the spaceship on its journey, which saw it head north and across the Cook Strait to Wellington.
Sharing photos of the gargantuan task on social media, Britton Housemovers wrote: “ET phoned. He was afraid and he was alone, but now he has a new home.”
The company told the Herald it was moving the Futuro home – a Finnish post-war innovation – to an undisclosed location north from Wellington up SH2.
