More charities have received money from a beauty pageant after parents of contestants raised concerns about donations.
The Starship Foundation this week confirmed it had received $2,861.11 from Miss Junior New Zealand organisers.
Pageant organisers say all payments are under control but some charities had been slow to provide bank account numbers to fundraisers.
Variety said it already received a cheque and was expecting two more. "It all looks like it's going to happen which is great," a Variety spokeswoman said. "I'm not aware of exactly when they're coming or what the amounts are."
A woman handling payments for Miss Junior New Zealand on behalf of company director Collette Lochore said all charities were emailed on Tuesday, June 3. The pageant received replies from most within three days.
She said the Breast Cancer Foundation and St John were slow to supply bank account numbers.
The Breast Cancer Foundation said it was contacted two days after the Herald on Sunday reported that some parents of contestants and fundraisers were concerned. "Obviously you stirred them into action," a Breast Cancer Foundation spokeswoman said. But it had still not received any money nine days after that call.
A St John spokesman said an email from fundraisers accidentally went to a junk mail folder.
