No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani has landed a starring role in Martin Scorsese's latest film. The singer - married to Bush singer Gavin Rossdale - will play blond bombshell Jean Harlow in The Aviator, a biopic about reclusive tycoon Howard Hughes.
It also stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Hughes, Kate Beckinsale asAva Gardner and Cate Blanchett as Katharine Hepburn.
It is the first major role for Stefani, whose hits with No Doubt include Don't Speak, Hey Baby and Hella Good. She teamed up with Eve for the hip-hop hit Let Me Blow Ya Mind and with Moby for South Side.
Stefani had fleeting guest appearances in the comedy Zoolander and on Fox's Dawson's Creek.
