A designer dress for sale online has been mocked after it was pointed out that the pricey item looks like a sack of onions.
The dress, from award-winning designer Elissa Poppy, is available for purchase via online retailer ASOS. The garment is made from 100 per cent latex, and retails for $645. It is currently on sale for $390.
Poppy's designs, which combine latex with lace, are described on the ASOS site as "couture-inspired lingerie", and the see-through red dress features a strapless design with a sweetheart neckline and racy lace-up back. Fashion lovers are told to cover their bodies in talcum powder before trying to slip this dress on, for "ease of dressing".
But Twitter users weren't so easily impressed, quickly pointing out that the dress looks like a sack of onions, according to The Mirror.
The designer boasts a range of latex lingerie and clothing, including latex wedding lingerie and earrings.
News.com.au earlier reported on confused shoppers mocking ASOS for their backwards "buckle" front bikinis.
An Instagram account, Asbos SOS, dedicated to poking fun at the weirdest looks on the fashion giant has attracted over 31,000 followers.
Online retailers Fashion Nova and Pretty Little Thing have copped similar criticism for fashion fails, including over-the-top "underboob" bikinis. Shoppers were happy to call skimpy items "ridiculous" and lashed other bikinis as only being good for lounging by the pool.
