Imagine having a cash slave, someone who takes pleasure in you draining their bank account, or emptying their wallet of brand new, yellow, $50 notes for seemingly very little in return?
Well, these people exist, and they're known as fin subs or cash pigs, but what exactly do they want in return?
Lucky DeVille, 26, from Sydney, had worked in the adult industry as a dancer and a webcam performer before she found her niche as one of Australia's premier fin dommes; a financial dominatrix.
British-born DeVille can earn between $1000 to $3000 per week in financial power exchanges with men that only want to give her their cold hard cash.
"The idea of financial domination is that the sub worships you," DeVille said.
At work, DeVille goes by the name Goddess DeVille.
"Finsubs receive joy by paying for your existence. To them, you are a higher being, and they are giving sacrifice to their goddess," she said.
According to DeVille, there are finsubs who are purely interested in the financial transactions and enjoy the rush of sending money to a complete stranger.
For others, financial domination overlaps into paying to play out their wildest fetishes.
"You're essentially selling attention and conversation and catering to their kink online," DeVille said.
While you may think this subject of BDSM is fairly niche, judging by Twitter, there is a thriving community out there consisting of hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.
Most of DeVille's clients are Aussie men who come from all walks of life.
"When it comes to domination, people are under the impression that submissives are always in highly-paid, high-pressure positions, however that isn't always true," she said.
"It could be a judge, a doctor, a businessman, or a tradie.
"It could be a young guy going through university or a man who has just retired."
According to DeVille, being a submissive is more of a state of mind among clients who truly enjoy "the feeling of degradation and giving up their power".
In this case, she says, it's their financial power.
NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED
DeVille says the job isn't an easy, pretty girl, get-rich-quick scheme.
To become a successful fin domme, you not only have to be well-versed in the psychology and language of BDSM, but you also have to know how to hustle.
Hard.
As a former webcam girl, DeVille already had a few years of experience spruiking her wares.
She finds most of her clients via online marketing, her website and uploading a constant stream of content to Twitter.
"It's like sales, where you have to entice a person to spend money," she said.
"I post content between five to eight times per day to inspire subs to come forward and interact with me."
PAY UP TO PLAY
At the start of any new relationship, DeVille insists on a tribute to open the conversation.
"A tribute is a payment verifying them as a financial submissive, and then they get the opportunity to discuss what they're interested in," she said.
"I offer subs certain responsibilities, such as the opportunities to pay for my manicures, bills or rent.
"They can also reimburse me for receipts or purchases I've already paid for."
Some fin slaves even ask for tasks like inflicting pain or humiliating themselves in exchange for their cash contributions.
"Once they've paid me, I may send them a reward video where I talk down to them or give them humiliating tasks to complete," DeVille said.
"Some subs like to send me pictures of themselves, but this is only acceptable if I have been well compensated. I shouldn't have to look at that for free."
TAKE MY MONEY
Another practice is when a fin sub asks his mistress to take over full control of his finances. "The mistress literally has control of his bank account, pay cheque and assets," she said.
"Then she doles out enough money so he can cover the bare necessities of life. In his mind, he is suffering for a greater purpose."
When asked if there was an element of exploitation in her practice, DeVille denied it, claiming both parties are "consenting adults".
"If they weren't sending their money to me, they'd be sending it to someone else," she reasoned.
"At the end of the day, I'm not seeking them out, they are coming to find me."
DeVille insists she is an ethical fin domme.
"Some unscrupulous dommes have caused untold financial damage," she said.
"The subs send them all of their savings. It can very destructive.
"This is another person's life you're dealing with, so you've got to be responsible."
She said it was important fin dommes were able to say no to money so their clients "don't do real damage to their lives" while pursuing their fantasies.
CAN WE MEET?
While DeVille conducts most of her business online, she also offers real-time interactions, known as cash meets, which have a starting price of $300.
"Some fin subs get off on the public humiliation of being drained," DeVille said.
"We meet at an ATM, and I watch them withdraw the cash. Then they'll kneel and kiss my feet before handing me the cash.
"With that, I'll promptly turn on my heel and walk away."
THE AFTERMATH
DeVille says after care is a really important part of BDSM.
"Subs can get something called 'sub drop', which is an almost instant state of guilt, shame or depression after a session," she said.
While she will counsel her clients, she will never return their cash if they suddenly have a change of heart.
Sound like easy money? DeVille says it's not as easy as it sounds.
"Reputation is everything," she said.
"You need to build your online persona and gain the trust of the community before subs start to message you with serious inquiries."
