Keep the kids happy and out of the cold with a trip to an indoor pool.
1. Lloyd Elsmore Park Leisure Centre Sir Lloyd Drive, Pakuranga
Kids will love the 25m leisure pool, with graduated depth for casual swimming and recreation. There's a toddlers' splash pool, too, complete with fun fountains. And a cafe for the adults for an early morning coffee. Ph (09) 535 5502.

Coloured flood lights, underwater lights and warm waves lapping at a Caribbean-themed beach are all part of the aquatic environment here. Kids will delight over the hydroslide, while toddlers get their own pool. Cafe on site. Ph (09) 815 7005.
The pool temperature here is a constant 28 degrees. Plus there's a learner's pool, heated to 32 degrees. Both pools have lifeguards on duty. Not to mention diving boards, water slides and a cafe on site. Ph (09) 444 6340.
4. West Wave Aquatic Centre 20 Alderman Drive, Henderson
Little ones can ride the waves, enjoy the hydro and inflatable slides or simply splashing around. There's a dedicated learning pool, too. Ph (09) 838 3706.
