A multi-million-dollar futuristic teen television series filmed in New Zealand with a local cast will screen later this year on TV4.
The Tribe, a 52-part science-fiction series, is made by Cloud 9 Screen Entertainment Group, a Wellington-based production company.
Co-funded by Britain's Channel 5, the series has already won critical acclaim and a cult following in Britain and been sold to several other countries.
The "tribe" of the title is a group of children struggling to survive after a global disaster which appears to have eradicated the adult human race.
Creator and executive producer Raymond Thompson said he was delighted TV4 had picked up The Tribe and local audiences would get a chance to see the show.
