Meghan Markle "doesn't like being told she's not the only powerful woman" in the room.
The Duchess of Sussex showed signs of this during a virtual summit with Fortune, according to a body language expert.
The Daily Mail reported that Meghan, 39, spoke from her Santa Barbara mansion claiming shepays no attention to public "flattery or criticism" and attacked the media for "misinterpreting" her words.
But body language expert Bruce Durham told The Mirror that her interview wasn't entirely authentic.
He said as soon as Fortune senior editor Ellen McGirt told Meghan she's "not the only powerful woman involved in this equation", the Duchess shows signs of being uncomfortable.
"She doesn't receive it like that, she receives it as a threat," Durham said. "Up until then the interviewer is still heaping praise on Meghan."
Meghan showed signs her "ego was raging", he said, like brushing her hair in an attempt to "reframe" herself.
"Lots of eye blocks, she wants to be the person in the room. Watch her throat, tightening of the throat, it's an animalistic reaction. She does not like hearing she's not the only powerful equation."

He also claimed Meghan tried to emphasise her authenticity by repeating the word "authentic" several times.
Meghan insisted that she doesn't focus on anything written about her, whether negative or positive.
"And the moment you are able to be liberated from all these other opinions of what you know to be true, then I think it's just very easy to just live with peace and live with authenticity."
But Durham claimed she showed negativity by "shrugging the lips" and looking down.
By explaining how she receives criticism, Meghan was trying to suggest that she's not controversial, Durham said.
