The photographers were reluctant to enter the online war, but one told The Telegraph that "the light" may have played a part in the discrepancy.
Who Weekly editor Nicky Briger said was surprised a second set of unseen pictures had come out of the shoot and denied airbrushing Bingle to enhance the images.
"Ours was not a paid interview. Nor were the images set up in collaboration with Lara," she said.
"We bought the photos from an agency and we did brighten them but we did not manipulate them."
