Sometimes he made a quiet rude noise, and sometimes quite a loud one.
"It's not funny, Webley," Fred said when they were back in the stable. "It's not good manners. Not in public." He sighed. "Perhaps you're not cut out forthe army. You mark my words, the army is good news for a horse. Plenty of grub, easy work, nice company. What more could a horse want? It will pay you to behave yourself."
But Webley like making people laugh. He didn't like standing for hours being good.
