To be in to win, the post on the brand's Facebook page asks fans to suggest KFC merchandise they'd like to see created.

Since it was shared on Friday, the post has received thousands of likes and 15,000 comments.

From envelopes with KFC chicken flavoured seals to a KFC-inspired beach set, complete with an inflatable chicken nugget, punters have put forward an impressive array of creative ideas.

Josephine Di Giovanni suggested "KFC flavoured lip balms - especially zinger burger flavour and popcorn chicken or a hat with a giant KFC bucket attached to the top so I can store and eat my chicken on the go!"

And Lee Cooper recommended the brand branch out to create a spiced whiskey: "KFC you guys are great in the food department but imagine having some sort of KFC drink like a real mad zinger flavoured spiced whiskey in sure it's what the colonel would've wanted."

While the majority of suggestions were for new products, Kenn Robinson commented that he'd like to see the return of an old KFC favourite: "Instead of NEW merchandise how about a return of the lemon wet wipes? Was good for cleaning and hiding certain smells when people assume you are dieting."
