Elton John says he would not go straight for anything and talks about how much he enjoys his gay lifestyle in an interview with the German magazine Amica.
"I am gay and wouldn't want to be heterosexual for all the money in the world," he says.
The flamboyant, free-spending pop star enthuses
about his carefree life.
"I've got enough money, don't have to follow any rules, don't have to be in the office from nine to five and take the kids to school in the morning.
"It is simply a fantastic life when you don't have any parameters. It's brilliant."
The singer and composer, whose hits include Candle in the Wind, which he sang at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1997, also says he has decided to play piano in all of his future songs.
"I am the piano man. That's what I'm best at. And that's why I'm so happy with the new album [Songs from the West Coast, to be released next month]."

Hollywood star Rupert Everett has teamed up with Robbie Williams for the singer's big-band album.
The pair will collaborate on They Can't Take That Away From Me in the forthcoming covers album Swing When You're Winning, Williams says.
The Rock DJ singer has also teamed up with Nicole Kidman for the album, due out next month, and admits he was "shy and really nervous" to meet her.
He says Kidman was also struggling with nerves when it came to recording their version of Something Stupid.
"It was a double-whammy. But her voice is amazing and she is a great person with so much charisma."
Williams describes his collaboration number with Everett - which Frank Sinatra recorded on his Songs For Young Lovers album - as a "big gay ballad".
Everett provided backing vocals for his friend Madonna for her number one single American Pie.
