Nicole Kidman and Brad Pitt have been named by British cinema-goers as the big screen's most glamorous stars.
The Moulin Rouge actress came top in a survey of female film idols with 52 per cent of the vote, far ahead of her nearest rival, Tomb Raider's Angelina Jolie (18 per cent).
They
were followed by Julia Roberts (15 per cent) in third place, and Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow (8 per cent) in fourth, according to the poll by mobile phone company Orange.
Kidman also won out over her ex-husband Tom Cruise's new girlfriend and Vanilla Sky co-star, Penelope Cruz (5 per cent), in fifth place.
Pitt, who stars in Ocean's Eleven, was the most popular male actor, winning by 53 per cent.
But he only narrowly defeated the surprise second place Russell Crowe (41 per cent), who stars in A Beautiful Mind.
The pair left their rivals far behind, with Tom Cruise in third, scoring just 3 per cent, and Robert De Niro and Robert Redford in joint fourth, with only 1 per cent each.
The survey polled 1000 film-goers, aged over-16, ahead of the Orange British Academy Film Awards, or Baftas, which are presented on February 24.

The singer lost possessions worth a reported £100,000 ($NZ345,159) in a weekend raid on his mansion in the exclusive north London suburb of Hampstead.
Police would not comment on newspaper reports that the thieves made off with paintings, jewellery and designer clothes.
The singer was in Los Angeles when the robbery took place. Reports said the stolen sports car was an Aston Martin DB7.

Sir Paul, who published a book of his paintings in 2000, was asked by the Isle Of Man Post Office to come up with the colourful images.
He chose a series of simple flower designs, like those used in artwork for the charity which he and fiancee Heather Mills front.
Sir Paul was a visitor to the island as a schoolboy.
"It's no exaggeration to say that it was one of the happiest trips of my childhood," he said.
* A state appellate court has upheld the stalking conviction of an Ohio man who sent hundreds of letters, e-mails and packages to Gwyneth Paltrow and showed up at her parents' home.
Dante Michael Soiu was convicted in December 2000 of stalking the 29-year-old Oscar-winning actress.
After his conviction, Soiu, 51, was found to be insane and was sentenced to a high-security psychiatric hospital for as long as he was a threat to others or himself.
Paltrow testified during Soiu's trial that she was "very fearful" of him.
