Show Biz: Jerry Hall gets plenty of satisfaction from her split

Jerry Hall says she feels sorry for her ex-husband Mick Jagger over his legendary womanising.

The 43-year-old supermodel also disclosed she felt compelled to divorce the 56-year-old Rolling Stone because of the mocking attitude of their children.

"Sexual promiscuity just leads to chaos and you have to clear it up. I wish he'd find happiness but I'm not churning up inside about it," she said.

The final straw which brought an end to their eight-year marriage last year was her children's reaction to his infidelity.

"Every week it was in the paper, public humiliation, private heartbreak. It's not easy for any woman," Hall said. "The final straw was when my children began to take on a mocking, disrespectful tone. Then I thought, 'Oh no, I'm setting a terrible example."'

* Let the beauty battle begin: In a move seen by industry insiders as a clear challenge to cosmetics giant Estee Lauder, the French-based Lancome has chosen the statuesque Uma Thurman as its new face.

Estee Lauder has long employed the newly Hugh-less Elizabeth Hurley, 35, as its "look." Uma, wife of actor Ethan Hawke, is five years younger.

* Michael Jackson's longtime promoter is suing the singer for $45.5 million, saying he backed out of a plan to perform New Year's Eve concerts on both sides of the international date line.

German-based promoter Marcel Avram filed the suit, claiming Jackson agreed to four performances, including two on December 31 in Honolulu and Sydney. Jackson performed at the first two concerts, but in October pulled out of the New Year's Eve shows.

* Freddie Prinze Jun won't say much about his relationship with fellow actor Sarah Michelle Gellar but he reveals one aspect of their relationship - her diet.

"She can actually out-eat me," Prinze said of his girlfriend, star of the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. "I've never met anyone who can do that. I don't know where she puts it, but somehow she can put down 40kg of sushi."

* Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines tied the knot over the weekend after her group performed in Las Vegas. Maines, 25, stole away to A Little White Wedding Chapel to marry actor Adrian Pasdar.
