A heartbroken US father who put his daughter up for adoption 39 years ago has been reunited following a plea on social media.
Jerry Miller had put his baby girl up for adoption after doctors told him he needed surgery for a brain aneurysm and would probably be dead orin a vegetative state.
The Indiana man survived and recovered from surgery, and attempted to regain custody of his daughter. But he was denied.
According to Miller, authorities had said he signed the adoption papers, but the father was adamant he didn't.
His request to see the files and find out more information about his daughter was blocked.
"Adoption records are sealed. Birth father Jerry Miller (and) birth mother Kathy Kabich (unsure of spelling). I had a brain aneurysm shortly after you were born and wasn't expected to live.
"You were adopted out while I was very sick. I just want you to know I have never forgotten."

Miller described the moment she was taken as away a "nightmare nobody wants to see or be in."
Post surgery, Miller remarried and has three kids, but said his life wouldn't be complete without meeting his daughter.
But on Friday, after 39-years, the father and daughter reunited.
"Forty years is a long time to just, show up," Miller told Wave3.
"We can still be family and love each other. If she didn't want that - we can still be friends."
