The supermodel, who is visiting New Zealand for the first time, unveiled her new lingerie collection at Auckland's SkyCity. Klum treated around 150 VIP guests to an exclusive runway show of her new range before she took part in a special Q&A that started with host Dominic Bowden having to show his Bendon briefs.

German supermodel Heidi Klum has been sending her underwear to men and asking them to drop their pants.

"I've been sending a lot of my underwear to the guys and I've been asking, 'Are you wearing it?'

"And pants are coming off. That's going to be my party trick now."

The cheeky lingerie model is in the midst of a whirlwind two-day trip to Auckland, showing off her new line of Heidi Klum Intimates for Bendon.

The visit kicked off with a 150-guest VIP event which saw underwear-clad guys and girls sauntering amongst the champagne sipping elite. Klum charmed the crowd with her warmth, teasing host Dominic Bowden until he revealed his own underwear - blue striped Heidi Klum Intimates.

Video: Supermodel Heidi Klum launches lingerie

This morning Klum called the fashion pack of New Zealand together for a high tea at the Sky City Conservatory. She sat down for casual Q&A session with stylish personality Amber Peebles, breaking in to a bit of banter with the seated guests.

Speaking about her "chic" men's collection, Klum encouraged men to "surprise" women when they take their pants off.

"Why are you laughing?" she asked, as guests giggled at the innuendo.

She asked a member of the Four Eyes blogging team if he was sporting her jocks. When he admitted he wasn't "yet" she turned the question to the mostly female floor.

Two excited gents raised their hands, and photographer Norrie Montgomery happily and hastily unzipped his denim shorts to reveal his Heidi Klum Intimates. Soon after, as Klum posed with guests for pictures, writer Sebastian van der Zwan dropped his trousers, pulled out a felt pen and got his briefs signed by the sporting supermodel.

Klum said her interest in underwear dates back to her teenage years, but the beautiful bikini body which has made her famous has fueled the fire.

"When I was a little girl, you always can't wait for your first bra ... and you go shopping with your mum for your first bra, and my love has never stopped for lingerie," she told high tea guests.

"I'm a real girls' girl, I love getting dolled up and putting on beautiful dresses and also putting beautiful underwear on.

"I got pretty known because of modelling lingerie and doing swimsuits. I've always rolling around on the beaches in beautiful bikinis and posing in front of the camera in lingerie and it has never stopped."

Racking up 20 years in the fashion industry, the fashionable mother-of-four is a fine fit to replace Elle MacPherson as creative director of Bendon's Intimates collection.

She spilled the beans on an up-coming swimwear range next year and more "specialty bras" like racerbacks, strapless, plunging and pieces designed just for behind closed doors.

Klum flew in to Auckland yesterday, Tweeting a picture of herself en route catching up with a copy of the New Zealand Herald. She met with competition winners this afternoon at the Newmarket Bendon store before flying out.

Coming to you next New Zealand with @hkintimates !! It's my first visit and I'm so excited! pic.twitter.com/5JhaydewC0

However, we've been told this isn't the last visit from the German supermodel - we can expect a couple more visits over the next 18-months due to her Bendon contract.
