Block-heeled sandals will keep you grounded all summer long.
Not too high, plenty of breathing space and preferably not terrible to look at.
Too much to ask from a pair of shoes, perhaps? Not at all, considering the numerous block-heeled sandals on offer. They offer versatility for a day out at the races, a garden wedding or shimmying onthe dancefloor come December 31. Even better, they work particularly well with this summer's prairie dressing and smock dresses, giving ample height (mid-block heels are ideal here) and plenty of stability.
A drier season means designers have played with plenty of suede fabrics, along with sleek leather and velvet - the latter ubiquitous over the winter season, but somehow irreverent and cool for those hot summer soirees ahead.
