The season's current lineup of sportswear separates inspires an active mood, with metallics, fluoros and the brightest of brights providing a fresh and invigorating approach to working out. For some of us, it's a chance to get back into an exercise routine after overindulging over the holiday period, investing
in workout gear that's comfortable and looks just as good in the gym as it does while you're out running errands.
Nike's ability to push the brand forward with product at the forefront of combining technology and fashion is evident, with its popular range of fluoro-tinged trainers - and more recently a range of Flyknit trainers, an ultralight shoe with a woven upper that weighs only 160g, cushioning every step and stabilising your stride in the process. Available in myriad colours from hot pinks, fluoro yellow and scarlet reds, it's sure to pack a punch for workout gear this season.
For something left of field, designer Jeremy Scott's irreverent approach to fashion is also evident in his collaboration with adidas. Scott's out-there prints and bold colour schemes take the majority of their inspiration from the streets, with loose-fitting trackpants and voluminous tops making the collection an appropriate choice for those taking hip-hop dance lessons or combat classes. Languid and with a focus on comfort, it is the kind of workout gear that will give your body the freedom to simply sweat it out.
