"These are not my prescriptions," she told the Herald online during playful banter at the Auckland penthouse apartment.
This week a Fairfax columnist slammed Longoria, calling her a "serial offender when it comes to selling out".
Longoria hit back, penning an open letter to the journalist, explaining she only wore glasses for reading and had done so before she inked a deal with the budget eyewear brand.
"So unless you are in bed with me at night, or in the morning at my breakfast table reading the morning newspaper, then you probably wont find a 'paparazzi' shot of me," she wrote.
"Next time you want to write an article calling someone 'shameful' why don't you do your research because that is your responsibility as a 'journalist'.
"It sounds like maybe you need some glasses yourself."
The fiery feud continued this afternoon, after the columnist in question, Jenna Clarke, reportedly said the "story is blown out of proportion."
"Didn't appreciate her sticking her 7mil followers on to me."
Longoria shared the Tweet about the spat on her Facebook page, biting right back:
"Well Jenna I didn't appreciate you writing LIES! So think twice next time and maybe all these awesome people won't have a reason to tweet u!"
