This year's New Zealand Music Awards - also known as the Tuis - will be held under stars, but indoors.
The awards ceremony will be at the refurbished Civic Theatre on Saturday, March 4, and will feature live music from some of the country's leading performers.
Hosted by 91ZM breakfast DJ MarcusLush, 10 main awards will presented at the red-carpet event and the remaining 16 at a music industry dinner at the Sheraton Hotel.
Sky Television will video the Civic Theatre show and screen the 2000 Awards Television Special on the same evening, unscrambled and free to air, simultaneously on Sky 1 and Juice.
Last year was an exceptionally good one for New Zealand music with the critical and commercial successes of stellar*, Shihad, King Kapisi and Stereobus among many others. New Zealand pop also had a good year with Deep Obsession, Ardijah and TrueBliss, to name just a few, making serious impressions on the charts.
The artists performing at the Civic and finalists for the 2000 New Zealand Music Awards will be announced shortly. Tickets for the Civic event are on sale through Ticketek for $15.
