A bride left her own wedding to fulfill her duties as a paramedic after her family was involved in a nearby car accident.
Sarah Ray and her new groom, Paul, were still at the church when they received news that her father and grandparents had been involved in a crash.
The Tennessee couple had only been married an hour but immediately got in their car and rushed to the scene.
She told ABC News Today that her and her husband are both paramedics as are a lot of the members from their bridal party.
"My father, grandmother and grandfather were all riding to the reception... we just knew they had been in a wreck and the car had been totalled. We didn't know any injuries at the time."
Ray's father and grandmother sustained minor injuries but no one was badly hurt.
"We were just there to check up on the situation," said Ray, who doesn't think she deserves to be called a hero for her actions, despite being praised online after the photo went viral.
"It doesn't matter if it's your wedding day or not."
Of the photo of Ray arriving at the scene in her wedding gown, she says: "I think the photo is great. It definitely makes for a memorable wedding."
