The Hanging Gardens of Babylon was the theme for Paraparaumu College's annual ball held at Southward Car Museum on Saturday.
After arriving in various forms of transportation, students walked under a purpose built arch, which had greenery and flowers hanging off it, before entering the main room which had $6000worth of lighting, lots of urns, giant gold harp, a statue, ivy on walls and staircases, through to dried rose petals on tables.
PartyPerfect kept the students nourished before a band called Down To Funk, featuring ex-student Luther Hunt, entertained.
The traditional balloon drop was replaced by confetti cannons which fired flower petals.
The last dance of the night was a tribute to Prince and comprised his song Purple Rain.
