RJs held a big sale last Friday to celebrate World Licorice Day and attracted punters from far and wide.
Traffic was slow at their end of Tiro Tiro Rd in Levin and hundreds of cars were parked along the road and around the corner.
The company's marketing executive, Kate Cadwallader,just five months into the job, said people came from the wider Hortowhenua, Palmerston North, Wellington and it even attracted a few tourists like a couple from the Netherlands who are honeymooning in new Zealand.
Sapper Leon Walker and Sapper Sean Ngatai were at RJ's last Friday during World Licorice Day to sell poppies and did a lot of business with those who came to take advantage of the sales at RJs.
The Sallies brought their emergency support trailer and handed out sausages, The Hits team from Wellington brought a prize wall, giving punters the change to get some free licorice, and two soldiers from Linton army camp had New Zealand made poppies available.
