"Hip-hop brings me peace. It is the only way I can share my story and express myself," he said.
This year Turner launches Hip-hop Monthly, starting January 28 from 9pm-1am, held at A.E.B - the Alternative Entertainment Bureau at 86 Oxford St (entrance through service lane), door sales $10.
Turner is aiming to create a hip-hop culture in Levin, inspiring others to express themselves through music.
"Bringing this hip-hop event to Levin is about sharing my passion for music, opening doors for local artists, and networking, all in a positive environment," he said.
The first event will be headlined by Auckland artist DYSLO, with special guest DJ RABB and performances by Killa D, Half Kast Crew, Mr Lyrickah and Souljah HP.
It will be an R18 event and Turner is hoping it will be the start of many more to come.
Turner wanted to thank Ross McColl Cars, Sal's Bar, Macs Cove, KC Motors, Super Liquor, Dakin Auto and Fruitful Supplies for supporting a recent raffle to raise funds for food vouchers.
