A generous gesture from a local dancing group is helping keep the Horowhenua Community Health Shuttle on the road.
Levin Daytime Dance group donated $1000 to the shuttle service at a presentation on Tuesday - all the proceeds from members' admission fees after hall hire and running costs were paid.
The shuttle service, which provides regular transport between Horowhenua Health Centre and Palmerston North hospital, is set up to assist people in the community who have difficulty arranging transport to medical appointments and other non-hospital appointments, such as physiotherapy or other specialists.
Shuttle trustees and drivers Gaye Anderson and Colin Lawrie brought the specially equipped van to the presentation at Levin Senior Citizens' Hall where they expressed thanks to members of the group and provided information on the services available.
