The 24-year-old said Tomorrow People always loved playing in Levin.
"These are the towns that truly appreciate the music," he said.
"It was an awesome response from the crowd, especially hearing them singing our originals word for word.
"We've been to Levin a couple of times in the past. The shows have always been off the hook, so it was a must that we went back there to showcase our new music."
Te Whetu's goal from a young age was to become a musician, playing consistently and travelling the world.
He said his favourite part of band life was meeting new people and doing what he loves.
"I'm able to fulfil my childhood dream of sharing the stage with musical icons like Fiji and Katchafire, to name a few," he said.
"It's always heaps of fun on the road with the team."
Te Whetu said there had been too many highlights of his musical career to date to name them all.
"Mainly travelling the world playing music, music that has impacted so many, that's my biggest highlight.
"It's always amazing to see how far the music has reached."
Te Whetu's biggest musical inspiration has been his mother.
His mother has played a huge part in his musical career and continues to do so, he says.
This year, the band's main focus is producing a new album, back to the studio soon to work on new ideas, as well as some shows in New Zealand, including new towns they haven't yet played.
