The Daily Mail reported Oprah wouldn't attend the pre-show party, but "a delicate assortment of complimentary canapes, fine wines, and premium beers" would be served.
When tickets went on sale this morning at 10am, the $2510 ticket came with a $57.73 booking fee, and a land levy of $2.75, taking the total to $2,570.48.
The Herald has asked promoters exactly what the $2510 ticket gets fans but they have yet to respond. However, Australian news site news.com.au reported that the photo op in the $2510 ticket for her Australian show only gets you close enough for a group photo.
Other options available today include the 'Fan package' at $609.90, the 'Premium Fan Package' at $709.90, and the 'Ultimate Fan Package' at $809.90. They include VIP treatment, gift sets, laminates and "staff to assist you throughout your experience".
Some took to Twitter to say that Oprah, who Forbes estimates is worth $3 billion, is out of touch with her fans.
It's Oprah's first time in New Zealand and in a statement announcing the show she said she was "excited to visit New Zealand for the very first time!"
The show's promoters promised that the influential media personality would bring her "personal story and insights to life in a one-of-a-kind intimate evening".
The show will also visit Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney.
Today's ticket release is a pre-sale for Visa cardholders. Tickets go on general release on August 3.
