I Wasn't Expecting That hit No.7 on the New Zealand Top 40 singles chart and rocketed to No.1 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart, attaining double platinum single status.
In August, Lawson headlined shows here and in Australia - which quickly sold out, with second dates added in some cities to meet demand.
Featuring his latest hit, Ahead Of Myself, Lawson's self-titled debut was released in October through Sheeran's Gingerbread Man Records and Warner Music.
Lawson's fans showed their support with the LP debuting at No. 3 in New Zealand.
The singer described his offering as, "Folk music, but not in the traditional sense".
"Hopefully it's just a very warm and inviting record that you can step into," he recently told the BBC.
Opening acts are yet to be announced for the Kiwi leg of the tour.
Tickets go on sale to Frontier Members at frontiertouring.com on Thursday from 2pm until Friday, 2pm.
The General public will be able to get their hands on tickets from Tuesday, December 1 at 12pm.
