Tour news: All you need to know about Echo Festival

Jamie xx has joined the line-up for Echo Festival.

Auckland's newest music festival has a new name and a new-look line-up.

Two weeks ago McLaren Valley Festival announced it was moving the festival from the idyllic location of McLaren Falls Park in the Bay of Plenty, to Auckland, after negotiations with residents in the McLaren Falls festival site vicinity failed to resolve concerns.

Today, organisers have announced the festival had changed its name to Echo Festival, taking place at Vector Arena on Monday, January 11 and Tuesday, January 12.

There will be more than 30 artists performing across two indoor stages and one outdoor stage.

International headliners The Flaming Lips, Disclosure, and Kurt Vile all remain on the bill, and today's announcement also adds several new acts, including UK DJ and producer Jamie xx, Canada's indie-slacker maestro Mac DeMarco, and Sweden's EDM/hip-hop renegade Elliphant.

Organisers promise a final international artist will announced on Monday November 2.

Several local acts were added to the bill, including sludge-metallers Beastwars, indie punks Die! Die! Die!, and Lyttelton folk songstress Aldous Harding, bringing the Kiwi contingent to around two-thirds of the line up.

Two previously announced acts - The Phoenix Foundation and P-Money - are no longer on the bill.

Despite the forced move, the organisers maintain the new location will offer a full festival experience, with markets and street food stalls operating from lunchtime until late on both days. It will be a multi-stage festival, with stages located inside and outside Vector Arena.

Echo Festival remains an all-ages event, with two-day and single day ticket options available, as well as discount tickets for children (5-11) and youth (12-16).

McLaren Valley Music and Arts Festival tickets can be exchanged for Echo Festival tickets, or full refunds on festival and camping tickets are available from point of purchase. All refunds must be processed by Wednesday November 18
