US singer Pink has revealed why she ended up in tears with a complete stranger who she met at a grocery store.
Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, told her social media followers that a woman came up to her while she was shopping.
They both started discussing parenthood, and the woman told her that she "gets strength" from her because she is not afraid to "f**k up in public".
Pink, who is a mother to daughter Willow, 6, and son Jameson, 1, told her Twitter followers of the moment.
She wrote: "A really sweet Mama came up 2me tonight at the grocery store and told me some nice words about how she gets strength from my parenting cause I'm not afraid to f*** up in public."
Pink is well known for discussing parenting issues on social media, and in public.
At the MTV Video Music Awards, the 37-year-old brought the house down with a commentary on self-esteem with her daughter Willow.
Pink told a "quick story" about Willow's struggle as she accepted the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award.
She told of how Willow, who appeared in a matching suit with her mum, had told her: "Mama, I'm the ugliest girl I know.
"She was like, 'I look like a boy with long hair.' My brain went to, 'Oh my God, you're six, where is this coming from?'"
The singer then ended with a simple message. "We don't change — we take the gravel in the shell and make a pearl."
Pink and her husband Carey Hart met at the 2001 X-Games in Philadelphia and she proposed to him in June 2005 during a motocross race at Mammoth Lake, California.
Pink is due back in New Zealand after she kicks off her world tour in support of her new album, Beautiful Trauma, in 2018.
