Steep (Ubisoft)
Gaming has come a long way since 1080 snowboarding on the Nintendo 64. You can snowboard, wingsuit, paraglide and ski your way around the Swiss alps in this open world snow game. The gameplay looks pretty impressive. Who doesn't love a trip to the mountains? Steepcomes out in December on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
You can't have a list of upcoming sports games and not mention Fifa. It was revealed at E3 that the latest edition will have an upgrade in career mode called 'The Journey'. It will include cutscenes as you follow a young player breaking into the big leagues. As a big fan of career modes this is great news. In terms of gameplay EA announced that they have improved throw-ins, free kicks and corners. The game will also have actual managers for the first time including Manchester United new manager Jose Mourinho. Fifa 17 is released at the end of September on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC.
Madden NFL 17 (EA Sports)
Another member of the EA Sports team, there was one major reveal for Madden at E3. A new feature called Play The Moment will condense a game to the key moments. So if you're not a fan of grinding your way from your own 1 yard line, you can skip to when your team is in the redzone. You could already do this through simulation but Play The Moment sounds like a cleaner experience. The improved graphics also mean we can expect another slick product. Release date is August 23 on Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Forza Horizon 3 (Xbox)
Forza Horizon 2 was one of the great driving games so there are some big expectations for the next installment. At E3 it was revealed it will be Forza's largest open world environment ever (as you'd expect) and stone the flamin' crows it will be set in Australia. New vehicle types, four player co-op and kangaroos are also included. Expecting only good things. Released September 27 on Xbox One and Windows 10.
