KEY POINTS:
Pop music stars Delta Goodrem and The Veronicas have taken out top honours at the MTV Australia Awards.
Goodrem took home the award for Music Video of the Year at the awards, held in Sydney last night, while The Veronicas were named best Australian artists.
Rapper Scribe flew
the flag for the kiwis, winning the New Zealand Artist award.
A stream of international celebrities on the red-carpet threatened to overshadow the event itself, with Mischa Barton, Eve, rapper 50 Cent, singers Juliette Lewis, Leona Lewis and Brian McFadden among those who made it down under.
Tiny twins the Veronicas stepped up for presenting duties, announcing producing superstar Timbaland as International Artist of the Year.
Jess Origliasso, one half of the pop duo, appeared painfully thin, prompting speculation she is suffering from an eating disorder.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported the singer denied suggestions she was unhealthy, saying her size was normal for her small frame.
"It's genetic, it's just one of those things," she said. "I'm feeling very, very good. I'm feeling healthy and good and strong."
The O.C. actress Mischa Barton, looking every bit the young Hollywood starlet in a wet-look mini-dress and feathered coat, handed out Australia's first Movie Star Award to US actor Matt Damon.
Pink was announced the winner of the MTV Live Performer Award for her I'm Not Dead tour.
Australian sports stars also attended the event for the first time, with Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe presenting the newly introduced Sports Award to surfer Mick Fanning.
