It has been a busy year for All Whites captain and West Ham star defender Winston Reid.
In March, he signed a 6½-year contract extension with "The Hammers" - reportedly worth $120,000 a week - and in July his beautiful Russian wife, Yana, gave birth to twins Arianna and Damien. The 4-month-olds are becoming social media stars. Yana has posted numerous pix of the duo online.
The first family of New Zealand football live in a luxurious apartment in London's Canary Wharf. Auckland-born Reid, 27, showed how much he loves his homeland by congratulating the All Blacks this week.
Speaking on West Ham TV, Reid said: "As a nation, rugby is our No 1 sport. They have done what no other team has managed to do, winning the trophy two times in a row and it is the first time they have won it outside New Zealand so it is a massive accomplishment."
The Reids are not the only ones with baby news. Several of our best-known TV reporters are awaiting the pitter-patter of tiny feet.
There must be something in the watercoolers at newsrooms in Christchurch. One News reporter Joy Reid is pregnant with her second child to husband Geoff.
"We are very chuffed to be expanding our family with the arrival of a wee girl in March," Reid said.
"Her older brother, 2, is most excited. When asked if he wanted a sister or a brother, he replied said he wanted baby ducks. Well, if only it was as easy as visiting the pet shop."
And congrats to 3 News reporter Susie Nordqvist, who is pregnant with her first child with husband Graham Wright, head of brand engagement and sponsorship at Vodafone New Zealand.
