Tool belts are proving to be a turn on as three of The Block NZ's builders have made women's hearts race.
Joshua Shanley, Martin (Marty) Laidlaw and Pieter Holwerda have been a smash hit in series four of the reality home makeover show. But sadly, ladies, only one - Holwerda- is single.
Spy caught up with the boys on Thursday at the Sofitel Hotel in Auckland's Viaduct Harbour.
They scrubbed up surprisingly well for the Auckland Racing Club Summer Racing Season launch.
Holwerda is the ex-boyfriend of Crowd Goes Wild co-host Hayley Holt.
His dream date night would be celebrated listening to the Eagles with a bottle of red wine.
A date for Shanley - married with children - is a little more interesting: "To go for a snorkel/surf/standup paddle board with my wife on the outer islands in Fiji.
"Then catch a couple of mahimahi for dinner and chill in a hammock under coconut trees while listening to someone play guitar around a fire on the beach."
Bad luck for those hoping Scottish-born Laidlaw's dream date would be in New Zealand.
He told Spy his perfect date would be spent on a yacht as the sun goes down on the Caribbean, sipping on the finest Champagne and playing the music of a soulful Motown band in the background.
Shanley and Laidlaw shrugged off the pin-up builder tag and Holwerda tried to pass it on to Laidlaw.
"Being a New Zealand pin-up builder leads me to believe that there's clearly a shortage of hunky builders in New Zealand, so they are obviously looking further afield for a real Scottish hunk of a builder," he said.
