On Wednesday night, E! came to town and did not disappoint.
Kiwi celebrities - Teuila Blakely, Sally and Jaime Ridge, Anna and Jay Reeve, and Stacey Morrison - attended the lavish party at Ostro in Britomart, eager to have their slice of the action of the world-famous TV channel.
NBCUniversal Managing Director Chris Taylor (former Prime TV CEO) was thrilled to be back in New Zealand to catch up with some familiar faces. He brought with him a large number of his Australian management team. Our own Dominic Bowden co-hosted the event with his beautiful The Hype co-host Ksenija Lukich.
The channel, famous for plastic surgery shows and The Kardashians, has become a little more real this season with new shows Just Jillian, starring fitness mogul and trainer Jillian Michaels of The Biggest Loser fame and Hollywood Medium's Tyler Henry.
Before they networked the influential room at Ostro, Spy caught up with both.
We showed Michaels a picture of a shirtless Malakai Fekitoa, Beauden Barrett and Shaun Johnson and asked who looked healthier.
Forget noticing who was healthy, Michaels became quite flustered seeing Johnson and his beautiful tats.
Just Jillian will promote healthy lifestyles and give viewers a look at how Michaels juggles her work and personal life, including her relationship with partner Heidi Rhoades. The pair have two children.
"We went into this with a bigger message about love, not just the mad world of fitness," Michaels said.
"If I can get conversations going about what other forms of 'normal' can be, I will delight in people learning from it and becoming more tolerant."
Meanwhile, Spy can reveal that 20-year-old Henry became a reality TV sensation after early training as a hospice nurse.
His first forays into psychic reading were at a public library before Hollywood came calling.
In Hollywood Medium he will provide readings for celebrities including Jaime Pressly, Snooki, Tom Arnold, Tom Green, Boy George and Heather Dubrow.
He's not afraid that Hollywood will chew him up. "I choose what to do with the tools I have been given and choose how I want to express it."
And when asked which celebrity he thinks needs him the most, he replied:
"That would be Cher, although I would love to do Oprah also."
The Hits drive host Stacey Morrison later gained a sought-after reading with the psychic on Thursday morning. Exactly what Tyler predicted and who from Morrison's life he connected with will be revealed in next week's Woman's Day and on Stacey's drive time show on The Hits on Monday.
