Lovebirds Sienna Miller and Jude Law are reportedly engaged. Again. Photos / Getty Images, AP

Love conquers all. And when it's the real deal you just can't fight it. To resist is futile.

Yes folks, it's all tweeting birds and rainbows over here on Cynical Island today.

We're looking at you, familiar lovebirds Jude Law and Sienna Miller.

Things are believed to be such a
bouquet of brilliance between the newly reunited couple, they've reportedly got engaged. Again.

The couple rekindled their romance in October when they were both acting on stage in New York.

A source said of their hook-up at the time: "Sienna and Jude have met up a few times and got on really well. Sienna had her heart broken by Jude, but she was young and it was the first time she'd fallen in love.

"What people don't realise is that they always remained close, so who knows where this will lead to next."

It'll lead right up the aisle apparently.

"They're desperate to keep their hook-ups secret because their break-up was so public. They don't want any potential reconciliation all over the papers, especially with Jude having just fathered a child with another woman," added the source.

Walk of shame

Epic fail on the 'keeping their hook-ups secret' front. Miller has been spotted doing the walk of shame on several occasions from Law's London pad.

And let's not forget Law's naughty love shame with model Samantha Burke. He impregnated her after a fling in 2008. Oh, the scandal!

The on again/off again couple originally got engaged in 2004. But it all came crashing down like a house of cards when naughty boy Law had it off with his kids' nanny. Aye, the ultimate cliché.

But Miller's obviously a forgiving woman. Word has it she's in deep with Law and has taken to sporting the engagement ring he originally proposed with - but on the wrong hand, to throw us all off the scent.

A source tells Britain's Daily Mail: "They do not want to make the engagement official which is why Sienna is wearing the ring on the wrong hand."

We see what she did there. Clever.

The insider added: "They are keeping it secret, but are very happy and really hope it's going to work out."

Maybe it will. Law recently professed that he's a changed man, citing his love child with Burke as a catalyst.

Burke gave birth to daughter Sophia Lee last year.

Law said: "My daughter made me realise if there's anything that's going to make a man of you it's having your will broken by a little girl.

"Eventually you have to grow up," he added.

And if this little fairytale does end up being fulfilled, you can bet your bling the couple's mutual mate Johnny Lee Miller will end up being the best man.

He has his uses.

"Johnny's great at throwing the paparazzi off the scent. He'll walk down the street with Sienna to where Jude's staying just round the corner," our well-placed snitch Fenella tells us.

But Law's got his work cut out for him as far as winning over the in-laws is concerned.

"Jude has vowed that his cheating days are behind him, and Sienna has begged her family to give him the benefit of the doubt, even though he let her down last time," a mole tells Mail.

"She wants them to accept her relationship with Jude, but they care for her and don't want her to get hurt - they think Sienna should take things slowly."

Fat chance of that happening. Good luck you two. Computer (and cynicism) says you'll need it.

Splitsville

But alas, it's time for us to leave happyville and enter the Mordor of relationships.

Yes, it's with a heavy heart we inform you that heirhead Paris Hilton and Doug Reindhardt have reportedly called it quits.

The story goes that Hilton has pulled the plug on their 14-month romance (that's got to be a record for her) after it emerged that the pair spent the Easter break apart. She in Palm Springs with her moneybags clan, he in Aspen.

Hilton has since trotted off to Vegas for some me, me, me time.

A source tells E! Online: "He [Reindhardt] was in Aspen with his dad this weekend and was considering stopping by Vegas on the drive back, but changed his mind. I'm pretty sure that's why he went to Aspen... to hide out and try to get over her."

Hell hath no fury like a Hilton scorned, buddy...

Married? Noooooooo!

Ninth time a charm for Dame Elizabeth Taylor? Don't bet on it.

Reports surfaced over the weekend that the diva, 78, had accepted a proposal of marriage to her whippersnapper Jason Winters, 49, (he's the talent manager bloke currently looking after Janet Jackson).

"It's no secret that they've been together forever and are in love, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they were engaged," a source told Us Magazine.

"Right now they are keeping it between them."

Taylor's been married eight times, twice to Richard Burton. Her last marriage, to Larry Fortensky, ended in 1996.

But in a post on her Twitter page today, Liz called crap on the engagement rumour.

"The rumors regarding my engagement simply aren't true. Jason is my manager and dearest friend. I love him with all my heart," she wrote.

We didn't believe the report for a second. After all, we remember with great fondness how the old bird reacted the last time someone asked her if she was about to wed:

No means no.
