Comedian star Amy Schumer has reportedly signed a book deal worth $US8m-10 million ($NZ12.5m-16m).
According to Entertainment Weekly, Schumer's agent David Kuhn has been approaching Manhattan publishing houses about the book proposal for some time.
It is believed to be a book of humourous essays,
Book industry website Publishers Weekly reports the book is expected to look at "Schumer's childhood, how she got her big break in comedy, her family and feminism".
The website also noted that interested parties have to sign a non-disclosure agreement before reading it.
Schumer this week won an Emmy for her sketch show Inside Amy Schumer, which she both wrote and starred in. Her last film, Trainwreck, made $US137m at the worldwide box office. She is currently writing a comedy with Jennifer Lawrence, in which the pair play sisters.
