Reunited Garageland in line-up for massive K' Rd music event

THE OTHERS WAY is a new local music festival put together by Flying Out and 95bFM

It will be taking over K Rd from 7pm on Friday September 4, with 27 local artists performing across six venues.

Taking inspiration from US alt-music festivals CMJ and SXSW, the organisers are encouraging fans to hit the streets and map out their own gig schedule.

Two acts in particular should get fans excited: The original line-up of 90s Auckland indie-rock outfit Garageland is getting back together to perform.

Kody Nielson aka Silicon will be making a rare appearance at The Others Way.

And Silicon, the current project of Kody Nielson, will be performing what is most likely his only local show this year after his new album is released on August 28.

The full line-up for The Others Way is: Aldous Harding, Avoid Avoid, Bespin, Carb On Carb, Caroles, Chelsea Jade, Doprah, Fazerdaze, Garageland, Glass Vaults, Ghost Wave, Heavy, Little Bark, LVJ, Miss June, PHF, Princess Chelsea, Robert Scott, Sere, Silicon, Solid Gold Hell, Street Chant, Supervillans, The Bats, The Moonlight, Tiny Ruins, Yumi Zouma and Zen Mantra.

They will be playing across Whammy Bar, Wine Cellar, The Studio, Galatos (main room and basement) and the Flying Out stock room.

Tickets ($34.50 with bCard, and $44.50 without) will be available from Tuesday July 28.
