The new teaser trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness shows glimpses of hair-raising action as the crew of the Enterprise return to Earth to fight an unstoppable terror that has detonated Starfleet and left the world in a state of crisis. Newly appointed Star Wars director JJ Abrams helmed the reboot, which stars Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch and New Zealander Karl Urban.
New Zealand film fans are set to be the first in the world to see the upcoming blockbuster Star Trek Into Darkness.
Paramount Pictures has announced the JJ Abrams-directed sequel to 2009's Star Trek reboot will debut in New Zealand on May 9 - a week ahead ofits release in the US.
It was originally scheduled to be released here on May 16
Germany and Switzerland will also get the movie on May 9, but New Zealanders will be first to see it because of time difference between the countries.
