After touring for what has felt like 90 per cent of the year, Broods will be back home late this month to celebrate the success of their first album.
The brother and sister duo, Georgia and Caleb Nott, are finalists for three awards at this year's Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
They have also been nominated for an Apra Silver Scroll award for their first single, Bridges, from debut album Evergreen.
Speaking from San Francisco, where they are currently on tour, Georgia said: "[This year has been] a lot crazier than any other year in my life. It's definitely a 'learn-as-you-go' experience but it's always fun and exciting ... It's a pretty sweet job, to be honest."
Georgia said the excitement of being nominated for the music awards was juxtaposed with anxiety that she and Caleb were feeling about the glamorous side of the awards event.
"We're kind of freaking out a little about what we're supposed to look like and [how] we're supposed to turn out. Red carpets are terrifying - I'm going to have to practise my smile in the mirror."
Broods are finalists for the people's choice, single of the year, and breakthrough artist of the year awards.
Georgia said it was reassuring to see their album Evergreen - which was produced by Lorde's producer, co-writer and engineer Joel Little - reach gold status in New Zealand.
"We're pretty bloody proud of ourselves to be honest. It's a really good reassurance that you've done a pretty good album."
The awards will be held at Auckland's Vector Arena on November 20.
Little won two of the event's early prizes last night.
The technical category awards were given out at an event at the Pullman Hotel in Auckland, and Little took out the best producer and best engineer awards for his work on Lorde's debut album, Pure Heroine.
