A "heartbroken" Nicole Kidman has broken her public silence after her father's death to thank well-wishers for their "comforting" love and prayers.
The Australian actress and her country music singer husband Keith Urban posted a joint statement to their Facebook pages, more than two weeks after Dr Antony Kidman diedfrom an apparent heart attack.
"We would just like to thank everyone for their love and prayers over these past couple of weeks," the couple wrote.
"We are all heartbroken but knowing we are in the hearts and thoughts of others is so comforting. Sending love, Nic and Keith xx"
Dr Kidman, 75, the esteemed Sydney clinical psychologist, died earlier this month in a restaurant at Singapore's exclusive Tanglin Club while visiting his youngest daughter, Antonia and her family.
The following week he was laid to rest in a funeral at St Francis Xavier Church on Sydney's North Shore.
Kidman remembered Dr Kidman as a dad who was always there for her, especially after her break-up with actor Tom Cruise in 2001.
"He was the father that was on a plane, hours after I got divorced, to come and take care of me, staying with me for weeks for as long as I needed," she said at the funeral.
